Shield

is a humanistic face shield response to the COVID-19 epidemic, it was conceptualized in an effort to incorporate a protective layer to the familiar and comfortable architecture of the ubiquitous baseball hat. The shield is fabricated by high speed die cutting 18 mil PET (flat plastic sheet) and then folding and connecting the carefully designed flat geometry into a contoured 3-dimensional form that encapsulates the user’s face protecting them and their community from the transmission of disease.
